Teach Me Tuesday

Hey Hey!

It’s about that time for the monthly TMT! I hope you all had a great weekend! This month I have learned a lot when it comes to baby pie. I have learned that he has a fascination with a cartoon called Super Why?!, he seems to be a little scared of Big Bird from Sesame Street, but loves Sesame Street, he wants to hold his own bottle and he really hates his car seat.

This hatred with the car seat has become a little of a concern because when husby and I go out to a restaurant this is where baby pie has to sit while we eat. He loves to get out of the car seat and look around. It basically comes down to husby and I having to hold him and eat, so that he does not get too vocal in the nice quiet restaurant. As you already know, baby pie is far too little to sit in the toddler chairs, so we end up leaving him in the car seat. This does not give him the best view of things and I have learned when he can see what’s going on he is one calm baby. I was recently out to eat with a friend and they did not have one of the slings to put baby pies car seat in. My friend suggested taking the high chair they have and turning it upside down to use as seating for the car seat.  Before this day I had never seen this done before. Usually I just put him in the seat next to me if the establishment does not have the slings, but the chairs in this particular restaurant were more like stools. If you are like me and need a visual I have posted pics below. Take a look.

Now, I have heard so many opinions about using this method. All very valid and understandable. There are people who say it is completely dangerous and should not be used at all and others that say it’s no big deal as long as you are near them and watching them. To be completely honest I am completely fine with using the method. I put my baby pie by the wall where there weren’t so many people walking by and I kept my eye on him.  Would I use this method over just sitting him in the next to me if I had the option? No, I would have used my seat, but that’s just because I like to be as close to him as possible.

I thought I would share the idea being as though it was my first time seeing this method used. I can see why it’s not used as often, but in a pinch it’s proven to be quite effective. Provided you keep a close eye on your little one. What have you learned lately? It Does not have to be baby related. I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday. Stay Inspired!
