Quick-on-the-go Hair

Hey Hey!

Okay, so I know I have been a little off with my videos lately. Please forgive me as my schedule needed a little adjusting. I am definitely back though! videos will be up every Monday from now on. I promise 🙂 Lately I have needed a quick on-the-go hairstyle that I can throw together when I need to run out. I have been completely infatuated with the low puff styles I have seen lately. The only issue I find with my hair is that it is not full enough to give that full puff I want. So, I got to work on how I can give the illusion of a fuller puff. Check it out below! Quick note, check out my new home at http://www.nettafied.com!

Items Needed:

  • Brush
  • Comb
  • moisturizer
  • Oil
  • rubber bands or ouch less bands

Hey Hey! I’ve eyed this cute low puff style I have seen lately. So I took to my bathroom mirror and got to it!

Start by parting your hair down the middle.

You can use ouch less bands, but I prefer the small rubber bands for my hair. I only wrap the bands around once for the braided sections (because they are bigger) and twice for the two middle sections (because they are smaller).

Pull one side out of the way to braid the other.

Moisturize and brush through the hair before braid. Comb if needed to detangle.

Make sure to split hair into either three  or four pony tails in the back.

Wrap with silk scarf either over night or for about 20 min before leaving. If you are doing this over night continue your braid all the way down on both sides and just undo the back in the morning.

Apply oil to help fluff the loose hair in the back. This reduces frizz and gives some of the moisture back to the hair after being wrapped.

Here I am just showing you how I spilt up my pony tails in the back. These are the left two pony tails (top) and the part splitting two on each side (bottom).Screen Shot 2015-02-16 at 1.28.33 AM

Here is how it should look after fluffing. My hair is more of a curly puff here, but you can wish or braid the loose hair at night to get a more defined curl

I really wanted a fuller puff in the back and found that this method has proved to be very effective. There is absolutely no pulling, no need to put in a tight ponytail. My edges were not being tugged on either. If you have a thin hair or your hair is just not as full as you would like it to be because of it's length give this a try!

Latest Craze

latest-craze

Hey Hey!

It has been way too long since I did a latest craze post. I have decided that I will be doing these monthly. I have got myself into a lot of projects lately and in doing so I have discovered some new things I’ve either fell in love with or became an every day habit of mine. Here are a few that have managed to make it to the tippy top of my Latest Craze list. Check it out.

  • Stelladot.com

I love, love, love this site! Besides that it can be a little on the pricey side, they have great sales and clearances you just have to keep a look out for them. If you don’t mind searching a little you can find some great deals. I don’t think I need to tell you guys when I choose to stock up ;). Last Christmas (2013) I purchased the cutest bracelets to give to my sisters and sister-in-law as presents.

The bags are super cute and yes a pretty penny, but if you ever want to treat yourself I doubt you will be disappointed. Their bags can range from about $89.00 to $200.00. I have kept my eye on a particular bag I am basically stalking the site for. Click here to take a peek. It’s called their “How does she do it” bag. Perfect for just about anyone. It has an easy to clean cloth on the outside perfect for mommy on the go, you can change the shape by using the snap closures it provides on the side of the bag, great for college students and not to mention it has a water bottle pouch on the inside very convenient for just about anyone. I am praying one day I hit the sale button and its the first product. Granted it’s only $89 but if I can get it for less why not?! For now it’s just a waiting game. Say it with me, Patience is a Virtue 🙂

  • CS-6000i Brother Sewing Machine

Y’all!!!!!! I am too excited about my new sewing machine. Husby surprised me for my 30th birthday and can I just say I was very ecstatic 🙂 My husband jokes with me that I am going to be that woman who ends up having a craft room that centered around her sewing machine lol. I’m not disputing that. I love creating things and this machine is going to make my DIY’s so much easier.  No more hand sewing!

I have not used it just yet because I am in the process of setting it up, but you already know I have a couple of projects waiting. First will be for baby pie of course. It’s a great sewing machine, it has digital settings for different stitches and not too big. It also comes with a small table I can attached to it for bigger projects. I can’t wait to get started!

  • Apothecary unrefined  raw Shea Butter

I know you all know how much I have fallen in love with this Shea Butter. I posted recently on how to make a whipped lotion by mixing the Shea butter with coconut oil and olive oil. If you haven’t seen it or you are new to the blog ( Thanks for checking me out by the way) you can view it here. This magical butter has replaced my lotion completely especially now because of the cold weather. Oh and remember the little jar I made for baby pie, well it is all used up. When it got colder his skin was getting dry patches. I used the Shea butter on him and they are now gone. It took all of a week and half for it to disappear. I don’t think I need to say it but I will just in case. No need for lotion when you have shea butter 🙂

  • Jungle Junction (Baby pie’s craze)

Okay so apparently there is a fascination with animals on wheels. Let me just say I am guilty of finding something my son loves and using it so that I can get things done you know like eat lol. From time to time I watch my neighbor’s son and he introduced me and baby pie to the Disney Junior show Jungle Junction. Baby Pie is obsessed and I mean obsessed. I think it’s because the animals are always speeding around on skates or wheels really fast. I’m serious every animal is on wheels.

Baby pie becomes very quiet and his eyes stay fixed until the show goes off.  Husby and I actually play it on our phone through YouTube at restaurants just to keep him calm. I love it when people walk by and comment “He is being so good” or “Such a calm baby” What they don’t know is the moment we turn this off its Mayhem at it’s very best. I am talking silverware thrown on the floor, grabbing anything he can reach to do God knows what with it. It’s amazing what a 7 month old can do when he puts his mind to it. So, Jungle Junction thank you for your amazing episodes and keeping my son entertained in our time of need. LOL!

  • The Good Wife

I don’t get very much time to sit down and watch a good tv show, but I have literally made time in my day to watch at least one episode of The Good Wife. I blame my sister for this addiction lol. I don’t know if this show should be called my latest craze or my addiction. I obviously have been under a rock because I recently learned that this show is on its 6th season. My sister came for Thanksgiving and that was all she wrote. I jumped right into this show. I love this show so much I call the character by name while watching the show. Yup, Alicia, Peter, Will… I can go on but I will stop here.

If you are a little behind on hearing about this show (like I was) please check out your nearest Hulu Plus. It has all the seasons. I don’t even want to give a synopsis because I am pretty sure most of you have already seen the show, as I am so very late  and for fear of giving away spoilers. JUST GO WATCH! I promise you’ll be adding it to your favorites list in no time.

So that’s it! My Latest Craze list at its absolute best. I hope you guys have a wonderful rest of our week and remember Stay Inspired!
