Natural Hair Banding Method

Hey Hey!

I have used the banding method lately to stretch and dry my hair. I love it! My curls are smoother (provided I do not separate too much and cause frizz), the length of my hair is longer and I found that my halo braid is so much easier to put in after using the banding method.

I was even able to wear different styles longer  Tuesday through Saturday. See below!

Tuesday Hair I re twisted Monday night and the curls came out what I like to call "wild child" but I liked it, so I rocked it.

Wednesday Hair Yes, the curly puff is back by hump day but I added a little something new in the front by letting my bang out. My hair still had lots of volume and length.

Quick-on-the-go Hair

Hey Hey!

Okay, so I know I have been a little off with my videos lately. Please forgive me as my schedule needed a little adjusting. I am definitely back though! videos will be up every Monday from now on. I promise 🙂 Lately I have needed a quick on-the-go hairstyle that I can throw together when I need to run out. I have been completely infatuated with the low puff styles I have seen lately. The only issue I find with my hair is that it is not full enough to give that full puff I want. So, I got to work on how I can give the illusion of a fuller puff. Check it out below! Quick note, check out my new home at http://www.nettafied.com!

Hey Hey! I’ve eyed this cute low puff style I have seen lately. So I took to my bathroom mirror and got to it!

Start by parting your hair down the middle.

You can use ouch less bands, but I prefer the small rubber bands for my hair. I only wrap the bands around once for the braided sections (because they are bigger) and twice for the two middle sections (because they are smaller).

Pull one side out of the way to braid the other.

Moisturize and brush through the hair before braid. Comb if needed to detangle.

Make sure to split hair into either three  or four pony tails in the back.

Wrap with silk scarf either over night or for about 20 min before leaving. If you are doing this over night continue your braid all the way down on both sides and just undo the back in the morning.

Apply oil to help fluff the loose hair in the back. This reduces frizz and gives some of the moisture back to the hair after being wrapped.

Here is how it should look after fluffing. My hair is more of a curly puff here, but you can wish or braid the loose hair at night to get a more defined curl

I really wanted a fuller puff in the back and found that this method has proved to be very effective. There is absolutely no pulling, no need to put in a tight ponytail. My edges were not being tugged on either. If you have a thin hair or your hair is just not as full as you would like it to be because of it's length give this a try!

Hey Hey!

I thought I would do a skincare video and share all of my tips on natural things you can can do to promote healthier skin. I finally feel confident enough to say that these simple natural tips will help keep skin healthy and glowing.

Teach Me Tuesday

.

Untitled-2

Hey Hey!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Yup, it’s good old TMT time! Did you know that limes are actually good for your hair and skin; not to mention they can be used as a natural deodorant. Yes I tried this. It actually works! I know it seems weird that you would use a lime as a deodorizer. My sister actually told me about this hidden secret. My husband thought it would be pretty weird for me to write about it, but to be honest I’m human, you all are human and well…. humans get stinky right?! lol.

Limes1

I have tried to find an all natural deodorant for the longest. While there are many brands out there that offer safer alternatives you just can’t seem to get more natural and safer than a citrus fruit.  I don’t know that I will let it take the place of my usual deodorant so I am still in search for a good deodorant (I heard Tom’s is good). I found a lot of articles talking about using limes as a deodorant. Click here to see one of them. The great thing about using limes is that it is far less expensive!

Limes can also play a huge role in your beauty regimen. It provides large amounts of vitamin-C and Flavonoids (antioxidants) which both have antibiotic and disinfectant properties. Because of these vitamins limes have the ability to keep your skin radiant and pores clear. Always remember to wash off thoroughly and avoid direct contact with sunlight after applying. It is also great at lightening dark spots. I would recommend applying to places like your face (or skin that will be in contact with sun) at night before bed.

Last, but definitely not least. Limes are pretty beneficial to hair. It is known to help with removing dandruff,  keeping hair shiny and promoting hair growth due to its large amounts of vitamin C . There are so many other health benefits that limes provide. You can read about it here. Hopefully this has inspired you to go out and grab a few!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week and I will see you back here on Thankful Thursday!

DIY Scalp Treatment

Hey Hey!

It’s the start of another beautiful week! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I am back with another hair video. This time I incorporated a DIY I found on Pinterest. I ran out of my shampoo and only had conditioner on hand. I went on a search to find something I can mix up from my kitchen to cleanse my scalp. I love those wash & go’s but the product build got pretty bad after a week. It’s called the reliever. It is great for dandruff or dry/itchy scalp, and it worked for removing product build up too. The colder seasons tend to dry your hair out, but no one ever really pays attention to what it can do to your scalp. Healthy scalp means healthy hair! I will be making this apart of my hair regimen. Check out the video below if you are interested.

Items Needed:

Lemon Juice- 2 Tb
Olive Oil- 2 Tb
Water- 2 Tb
Measuring Spoon
Container for ingredients
